Port celebrates another record year

More than 7 million tons pass through Port facility.

Port of Beaumont celebrates another record year

The public terminals of the Port of Beaumont experienced another record year with a 7.6% increase in tonnage. The Port of Beaumont’s 2020 tonnage numbers for the public docks and wharves exceeded 7,000,000 for the first time in Port history.

“The Port has never been more productive and it’s as a result of teamwork, planning and diversification,” says Port Director Chris Fisher “We have a small team, but more than 450 years of combined experience.”

Over the last year, the Port of Beaumont spent $11.5 million toward the completion of the following capital improvement projects:

Phase I of the Main Street Terminal 1 Dock Rehabilitation project (construction in progress)

Repair of the grain elevator embankment

Carroll Street Bridge project (construction in progress)

Engineering and design for the new rail interchange track

Dredging of the Island Park Terminal

Shoreline stabilization at the Main Street Terminal

Design of the Orange County Security Access Control Center

Replacement of the fenders at Harbor Island with eco-friendly composite fenders

Improvements to lay down areas within the port

Engineering and design for the Port’s new truck queuing area

Engineering and design for the Grain Dock Rehabilitation project

To sustain the level of growth experienced over the last several years, the Board of Commissioners approved a $248.8 million Capital Improvement Program that consists of 19 projects, more than half of which are underway. While the pandemic has caused economic decline in many areas industry-wide, the Port of Beaumont’s cargo volumes remain strong. Year-over-year, the Port of Beaumont experienced a 38.2% increase in liquid bulk cargo, 14.1% increase in bagged goods, 49.2% increase in military cargo and a 42.7% increase in project cargo, resulting in a 7.6% increase in tonnage overall.

With planned expansions that will benefit the local economy, the future of the Port of Beaumont is bright.

I liked the straightforward approach to discussing app functionality and user experience. Those details are often overlooked, but they are essential when working with Professional App Development Services.

Wow, the Port of Beaumont really crushed it with over 7 million tons moved—impressive teamwork! Seeing all those cargo photos makes me wish I had a translate image ai tool to read any foreign labels on the containers. Congrats on the record!

Some outfits are remembered because they look great, while others become memorable because they are connected to an important moment. The white suit worn by LeBron James for the NBA Draft definitely falls into both categories. I came across Vanson Jackets while exploring these kinds of celebrity-inspired styles, and the LeBron James NBA Draft White Suit is a pretty distinctive piece for anyone who follows basketball and fashion.
